Zolder 24-Hrs race
(25/08/03)
Last weekend Donny competed in the
Zolder 24Hrs Race.
After six hours into the race
and driving the car into the top-ten,
Donny was hit by a Porsche on the left side while going into the Jackie Ickx
Chicane and sent the BMW M3 GTR into the tyrewall..
This was the end of an eventfull week, which included a blown tyre and a bad running engine in Qualification.
Before the race the team
putted in a new engine, but unfortunately the car was ready
just 10 minutes before the start, so they had to start from the pit-lane
instead of being 13th on the grid !

Donny Crevels and his co-drivers Duncan Huisman and Sandor Van Es moved up the field rapidly, despite a breakpeddle which became so hot after a stint, the driver needed a bucket with water to cool down his foot ! |
A
dissapointed Donny : "I feel bad. Finally
the engine was running well and the balance
of the car seemed fine too, we could have had a better result, but hey,
thats racing !"
Now Crevels will focus on the V8-Star Race again,7th of September, being
held at Zandvoort during the Trophy of The Dunes.
Donny 9th in Porsche Carrera Cup
debut
(19/08/03)
Sunday, Donny drove the first of the total 3 races he will race in the
German Carrera Cup.
The test, a few weeks ago, was interrupted by heavy rain, so this race at
the Nurburgring Germany was more like a practise-session for the last two
races this year.
In free practise Crevels had a lot of
understeer and it is well known that the Porsche
is not the easiest car to control, especially for a rookie, so he finished
the free practise
in 16th place.
During Saturday's Qualification, the car was
more balanced, but he finished 17th.
Donny started te race well by passing four
cars on the outside in the first corner, resulting in a 13th position.
Later on he passed two more cars and while a few cars crashed out of the
race,
Donny made no mistakes and finished in a reasonable 9th place.

Donny Crevels:
"Despite my big effort, a
better result was just not possible today. I've tried to drive my own race and i think starting 17th and finishing 9th, is a fine result." |
Hot news !
(14/08/03)
Yesterday Donny got the news that he will drive in 3 of the last 4 races for
the German
Porsche Carrera Cup. He will
drive these races for the Eichin Racing Team for which he
tested in July.
Donny: "The Eichin Team was very impressed by my victory in the V8-star last Sunday, so teamboss Walter Eichin made it possible for me to do those 3 races."
The reason why Donny can't participate all 4 races is because of other big news:
"The Don" will also drive in the last two V8-Star races, again for the Premio GAG Racing Team, with which he won during the Marlboro Masters !
Donny:
"The Porsche race at the Austrian A1-ring is in the same weekend as the
V8-
Star race at Zandvoort (6-7 Sept.)
and i decided to race in the V8."
It looks like we can make
ourselfs up for some exciting races and breathtaking actions.
"The Don" will strike again !

Today Donny proved he IS one
of the best drivers on this planet, by surprisingly winning the V8-Star race
during the Marlboro Masters !
During the free practise he constantly drove in top 5 and after a
spectacular qualification where he finished on pole position, Donny became
unbeatable in the race.
At the start Crevels had too much wheelspin and was going 2nd into the first corner.
After a fantastic pitstop by the Premio GAG Racing Team, Donny was leading the race again, but lost his position because of the pace-car interfered the race and a restart was set.
By being in excellent shape and the fastest on the track, Donny ruled the race and on his debut in the V8-Star he wins at the Marlboro Masters !
